At S.A.L.T., our mission is to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals and communities. Our goal is to ensure that every individual has access to safe housing, food, clothing, services, and opportunities for a brighter future. Through our dedicated team of volunteers and staff, we work tirelessly to bring about meaningful change and create a more inclusive and compassionate society.

Our Story

In the heart of Skid Row, Los Angeles, a spark of compassion ignited a movement. Meet Leon Devo, the visionary behind S.A.L.T. (Saving All Lives Together). It all began with a simple act of kindness - feeding the homeless peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Growing up amidst adversity, Leon experienced firsthand the struggles and challenges that many face in life. However, it was through the saving grace of God that Leon found solace, hope, and purpose.

Fueled by his newfound faith and a profound sense of gratitude for God's mercy, Leon felt a calling to serve those in need. Guided by a conviction that his past struggles had prepared him for a greater purpose, Leon embarked on a mission to feed and care for the homeless on the streets of Skid Row. It was in these humble acts of compassion that Leon discovered his true calling from God – to be a beacon of light and love in a world often shrouded in darkness.

With unwavering faith and a heart overflowing with compassion, Leon founded S.A.L.T., a nonprofit organization dedicated to extending the same mercy and grace he received to others. From peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to establishing a unified movement to spread God’s love, Leon’s story inspires us all to embrace our own calling, to follow where God leads, and to join hands in saving lives together."
